Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy explains what information Pham Physics collects, why we use it, when it may be disclosed, and the choices available to you. It applies to phamphysics.com and the Pham Physics student and instructor portals (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Who operates the Service
Pham Physics operates the Service from Texas, United States. Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through our online Privacy Request form.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password in hashed form, account role, and account creation date.
- Course and enrollment information: enrolled courses, instructor or section association, promo codes used, assignments, and enrollment dates.
- Learning activity: pages viewed, course progress, quiz responses and scores, practice-problem answers, attempts, use of guided help, completion records, and timestamps.
- Communications: information you include when you contact us or make a privacy request.
- Instructor content: course settings, assignments, materials, quizzes, simulations, or other content an authorized instructor submits.
Information collected automatically
- Session and security data: a session identifier used to keep you signed in and protect account access.
- Technical data: internet protocol address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and server logs that our hosting and infrastructure providers may process to deliver and secure the Service.
- Preference data: limited browser storage for interface preferences, such as navigation state or theme.
We do not currently collect payment-card details. Any card fields displayed in the current demo checkout are disabled and do not transmit or store card information. We shall update this policy before enabling real payment processing.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, courses, assignments, quizzes, practice tools, progress tracking, and instructor features.
- Authenticate users, maintain sessions, prevent misuse, diagnose problems, and protect the Service.
- Display a student’s learning activity to that student and, when linked to an instructor or section, to the appropriate instructor and authorized administrators.
- Administer enrollments, instructor codes, support, and communications you request.
- Maintain, analyze, and improve the Service using first-party operational information.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms of Use, and establish or defend legal claims.
4. How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising.
We may disclose information:
- To instructors and administrators: an instructor linked to a student may view that student’s identity, enrollment, assignments, progress, quiz activity, and practice activity as needed to provide instruction. Authorized site administrators may access information to operate the Service.
- To service providers: vendors that provide hosting, security, content delivery, fonts, or similar technical functions, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
- For legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request; protect rights, safety, or property; investigate fraud or misuse; or enforce agreements.
- In a business transfer: if the Service or its assets are reorganized, sold, or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
- With your direction or consent.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only limited technologies needed for sign-in, security, and interface preferences. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral analytics. Details appear in our Cookie Policy.
6. Third-party services
Pages may retrieve fonts from Google Fonts and the MathJax library from jsDelivr. Those providers receive ordinary request data, such as your IP address and browser information, when your browser requests those resources. Course materials or simulations may also contain instructor-selected links or embedded resources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
7. Retention
We retain account and learning records while an account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain academic and operational records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and preserve secure backups. Retention periods vary by the type of record and purpose. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to backup and legal requirements.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
You may update your email or password in account settings. You may also ask to access, correct, obtain a copy of, or delete personal information associated with your account through the online Privacy Request form. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. If applicable law grants you additional rights, including a right to appeal a denied request, include your state or country of residence in your request and we shall respond as required.
Because we do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or conduct qualifying profiling, there is presently no sale, targeted-advertising, or profiling opt-out to exercise.
9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers may send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Because Pham Physics does not engage in cross-site behavioral tracking, sell personal information, or share it for targeted advertising, these signals do not change the Service’s current behavior. Third-party resource providers may receive technical request data as described above.
10. Children and students
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts or provide personal information directly through the Service. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us promptly so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
Users aged 13 to the age of legal majority may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian, or through an authorized educational arrangement. Instructors and educational organizations are responsible for obtaining any permissions required for the students they enroll or direct to the Service.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted HTTPS connections and password hashing. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
12. International use
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ. Do not use the Service where doing so would violate applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We shall post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
14. Contact
Submit and track privacy requests using the online Privacy Request form. Each submission provides a private status link for updates and responses.
